The Missouri Highway 36 Quilt Trail 2018 Passport promotion begins April 3, 2018. Participants will have until October 31, 2018 to turn in a quilt top to a participating shop.
Organizers say this year’s theme “Ol’ Trail Town” is designed to represent and embrace northern Missouri’s 1800s heritage. Each block represents a building that would have been found in a community in the 1800s.
Participants in this year’s program will find shop owners and staff who are enthusiastic to help visitors with any quilting needs, from picking out fabrics to assisting beginners with cutting the blocks. Many are offering their block in a kit to make the project easier. They all want your Ol’ Trail Town Quilt project to be a success.
The American Genius Highway Quilt Trail includes 16 shops in 15 towns. Many of the businesses along the established trail are located just off Highway 36, while some are within the Highway 36 Corridor (a zone spanning 36 miles north and 36 miles south of the actual highway).
The Passport program begins April 3, 2018. Through the program, Passports can be picked up at participating quilt shops. Visitors can collect a free pattern and get their passport stamped at each of the 16 businesses.
One person, one passport. Shops will not stamp multiple passports. In order to receive a stamp the customer must be in the shop. Passports can be picked up at participating quilt shops. Visitors can collect a free pattern and get their passport stamped at each of the participating businesses. Some shops may provide a block kit for sale. The pattern block is unique to each individual business.
ANY shop can receive a completed quilt top and they can receive as many as submitted. Each quilt top submitted will have a photo taken of it and the shop will collect the customer’s completed passport.
This year’s program has three prizes…
- The grand prize: A $25 gift certificate from each of the 16 participating shops
