‘Show Me Your Heritage’ on the 2021 Quilt Trail

2021 Hwy 36 Quilt Trail

The Quilt Trail Shops are excited to announce our amazing theme for 2021!

2021 Hwy 36 Quilt Trail

As many of you may know, 2021 marks the Bicentennial of Missouri. We are SEW proud of our state and want to join in on their 200 year celebration, so our theme this year is “Show Me” Your Heritage!

The quilt will be called Heritage Stars.

‘We are taking a bit of a departure this year and trying something new,’ said Sandra Austin, owner of By The Yard Quilt Shop in Rayville.  ‘This year’s quilt is one cohesive pattern making a beautiful and popular star pattern quilt.”  Instead of individual quilt blocks assembled at the sewer’s discretion, the 2021 quilt is a cohesive pattern.

Participants start with a Passport brochure that can be picked up at any of our participating quilt shop and then visit each of fourteen shops to collect patterns and stamps.  This year you can also buy a kit at each store to make their quilt block.

The Highway 36 Quilt Trails takes place every year and runs April through October. The trail spans the Highway 36 corridor in North Missouri, from Hannibal to St. Joseph.  Participants completing their quilt receive a unique charm and will be entered to win prizes.
