The St. Joseph Museums Inc, is a collection of four museums. The St. Joseph Museum is dedicated to the cultural and natural history of St. Joseph. It is well-known for its extensive Native American collection and exhibits include clothing, accessories, fans, pottery, pipes, weapons, kachinas, jewelry and archaeological artifacts from ten cultural regions of North America. Also currently featured are exhibits on medical treatment during the Civil War. The Glore Psychiatric Museum focuses on the history of care for the mental ill. The Black Archives is dedicated to the history of African Americans in the community. The Wyeth Tootle Mansion is at the corner of Eleventh and Charles Streets in Downtown St. Joseph and is a prime example of the fantastic architecture in the City. This 1879 Gothic sandstone mansion illustrates the cultural, architectural, and economic history of 19th century St. Joseph.
